What kind of food does SOPO serve?
SOPO serves modern Korean comfort food rooted in classic Korean flavors like bulgogi and kimchi-made fresh daily in Midtown Manhattan. Our menu features build-your-own Korean plates, freshly rolled kimbap, savory sides (banchan), house-made sauces, and Korean beverages – all designed to be bold, satisfying, and approachable. Think of us as your go-to fast-casual Korean restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, where you can create a chef-quality Korean meal for under $20. Our plates are balanced, protein-forward, and satisfying-ready fast for a healthy Korean lunch, dinner pickup, or delivery.
Where is SOPO located, and what are your hours?
Do you offer vegetarian or vegan options?
Yes! SOPO offers several vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. Our Baked Tofu Plate features oven-baked tofu with a crispy cornmeal crust and can be paired with plant-based sides like Kale Namul, Garlic Broccoli, Gold Pumpkin Mash, and Kimchi Salad. We also serve a Tofu Kimbap made with baked tofu and shiitake mushroom instead of fish cake. Our Perilla Princess sauce is made with coconut yogurt (no dairy), making it our most allergen-friendly option. You can build your own plate or kimbap entirely plant-based using our menu customization options.
What are your most popular dishes?
Our most loved dishes include the Beef Bulgogi Plate (thinly-sliced sautéed ribeye in soy sauce marinade), the Seoul Steak Plate (seared flat iron steak with gold pumpkin mash), and the Spicy Pork Plate (sautéed pork shoulder with red pepper sauce). The Build-Your-Own Plate is also a fan favorite – pick your base, protein, three sides, and sauce to create your perfect Korean bowl. Don’t miss our house-fermented kimchi and the Saucy Dumplings! Browse the full lineup on our menu page.
Are your meals spicy?
Not all of our dishes are spicy – you’re in control of the heat level! Our Spicy Pork Plate and Fire Sauce bring Korean chili flake heat, while options like the Smoked Chicken Plate, Beef Bulgogi Plate, and Seoul Steak Plate are savory without the spice. Our sauces range from mild (Ssam Aioli – creamy and umami) to bold (Fire Sauce – our Korean-style sriracha). Check our menu for full descriptions of every dish and sauce.
Do you use artificial flavors or preservatives?
No. At SOPO, we make everything in-house – from our house-fermented kimchi to our signature sauces and marinades. Every dish is crafted with fresh ingredients and bold Korean flavors. Our kimbap is rolled fresh daily, and our sides are prepared from scratch each morning. We believe great Korean food starts with quality ingredients and real cooking, not shortcuts. Learn more about our approach on our About page.
Does SOPO have allergen information available?
Yes! We list allergens for every side dish and sauce on our menu page. Common allergens in our kitchen include soy, gluten, sesame, garlic, dairy, egg, and shellfish (present in oyster sauce and fish sauce used in select items). Our Perilla Princess sauce is our most allergen-friendly option, containing only garlic. If you have specific dietary concerns, our team is happy to help you navigate the menu in-store. Please note that our kitchen handles all major allergens, so cross-contact is possible.
Can I buy SOPO gift cards?
Yes! SOPO digital eGift cards are available for purchase online. They make a great gift for anyone who loves Korean food in NYC. You can buy them through our website – just click “Gift Cards” in the top navigation. Gift cards are sent via email and can be redeemed for in-store and online orders.
